Position

About the role

We are looking for a Toxicology Analyst to work as part of an enthusiastic and evolving team to ensure the timely throughput of toxicological case work and to assist the laboratory in expanding the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 scope of toxicology accreditation by developing, validating and implementing qualitative and quantitative analytical methods on GC-MS, LC-MS/MS & HPLC-DAD platforms.

Main duties of the role but not exhaustive:

  • Assess the integrity and suitability of case samples for analysis and prepare contemporaneous, accurate and concise examination notes.
  • Monitoring and replenishment of laboratory consumables.
  • Preparation of primary drug standards (and verification by UV spectrophotometry), calibration standards and reagents.
  • Recover toxicological evidence via enzyme immunoassay and drug extraction techniques, notably LLE and SPE, to clearly defined standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • To undertake the daily calibration and operation of the GC/MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation and the peer review of analytical data.

Requirements

About You

Previous laboratory experience is desirable either through work experience or university but not essential. You will have excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic and high levels of integrity and honesty. You thrive under pressure and aspire to provide the best possible service for the customer! This role is ideal for a Chemistry, Toxicology or Forensic Scientist graduate.
