Position

About the role

We are looking for a Reporting Manager to join our Drugs and Alcohols team based in Coventry. Working to the Deputy Head of department, the successful applicant will be responsible for interpreting analytical results and providing reports to the customer to support the progression of cases within the Criminal Justice System. The individual will be expected to work flexibly within the team and to work collaboratively with other departments, in order to meet customer requirements and ensure delivery of a high-quality service. There will be a strong emphasis on continuous process improvement with the aim of ensuring that the team is best placed to meet the ever-increasing demands of the business and the wider forensic marketplace.

Requirements

About you

You will have previous experience in a related working environment where analytical techniques including IR, GC-MS, HPLC and GC-FID are used. Experience as a court-going reporting scientist would be advantageous to your application. You should be good at problem solving and should welcome the challenge of a complex and varied workload. You will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, an enthusiastic, positive work ethic and high levels of integrity and honesty. You will be able to work well under pressure, happy to take on a high level of responsibility and committed to delivering what the customer wants. You will have strong interpersonal skills and will be able to work well within a team.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, dependent on experience, a company pension and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). The position is a full-time permanent post, currently working Monday to Friday. Our laboratory in Coventry has excellent facilities and good commuter links.
