Our team of forensic scientists are experienced in the interpretation and reporting of a wide range of evidence types in support of criminal investigations.

Position

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clarify customers’ requirements and convert them into a forensic strategy; to coordinate the search, recovery and testing of material from case exhibits in the laboratory; and interpret the findings in a concise manner to present evidence to the court
  • Manage your own resources including a personal case load, and take responsibility for your own professional development.
  • Conduct a forensic strategy in line with a CAI approach.
  • Undertake or supervise the technical analysis of forensic samples.
  • Assign meaningful interpretation and conclusions to forensic evidence.
  • Prepare written reports suitable for court/CPS purposes
  • Provide expert evidence to courts.
  • To work collaboratively with other departments in order to meet customer requirements.
  • To deliver departmental excellence and efficiency driven by the ever increasing demands of the business - there will be a strong emphasis on continuous process improvement

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level, in a Science discipline

Experience

  • Candidates will have experience of reporting Forensic Biology and DNA casework.
  • Experience of reporting scenes involving Homicide/Suspicious Death, an advantage.

  • Hours – 37 per week
  • Location - Any of our 3 sites: Coventry, Warrington or Norwich
  • Holidays – 25 days per annum plus statutory holidays
