Our team of forensic scientists are experienced in the interpretation and reporting of a wide range of evidence types in support of criminal investigations.

Position

Provide a high quality cleaning service that includes but not limited to tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying bins, and polishing surfaces in office and staff communal areas.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the offices and communal areas.
  • To ensure relevant KFS procedures and policies are adhered to.
  • To use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed, maintain adequate stock levels and reorder as required.
  • To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to Line Manager.

During each visit:

  • Clean all light switches, door handles, hand rails etc twice daily.
  • Empty and clean bins, remove waste to designated area, including the separation of waste, i.e. recycling.
  • Empty and restack the dishwasher and clean communal kitchen areas including fridges and microwaves.
  • Clean toilets and hand basins.
  • Vacuum and dust throughout the offices and communal areas incl entrance
  • Mop communal corridors and clean lab external windows and sills
  • Weekly clean internal glass and internal and external door glass
  • Where practicable ensure windows and doors are closed and lights switched off and report to Line Manager any defects seen which are likely to affect security i.e. broken/cracked window etc.
  • To use only approved cleaning materials in accordance with manufacturer’s safety data sheets and KFS COSHH Risk assessments.
  • To be aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety of themselves and others.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

Skills & Competencies

  • A knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures (eg Risk assessments and COSHH) would be advantageous.
  • Must be willing to undertake any training relevant to the role as required

Terms & Conditions

  • Hours – 12 per week (4 hours per day, 3 days per week - working days Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays)
  • Holidays – 25 days per annum plus statutory holidays (pro rata)
  • Pension – Contributory
