Role Purpose


We are looking for an established and experienced strategy director to boost our growing strategy department, including working closely with junior team members to help them develop. The right candidate will have demonstrable experience in multi-channel planning but should revel in social-first; naturally planning from culture back to brand, not brand out.


The role will sit as part of the Senior Management team of The Wild.


While we believe that strategy roles are inherently creative, we are looking for a strategist who feels as comfortable traversing creative as well as getting stuck into data, is fluent in all things paid media and thrives when planning platform and channel ecosystems.

Responsibilities


Responsible for managing, supporting, and building The Wild's social strategy team across both the agency and brand partnerships business. In conjunction with managing The Wild's social strategy team, will also be asked to provide social media strategies, trends analysis, PoVs, frameworks, and analyses (both internal and external), along with structured solutions and measurable results that apply to The Wilds unique approach as a publisher powered agency. (Data & insights, Planning, Creative Editorial, Influencer Marketing, Paid Social).


Organisation and team management of strategy team within The Wild. Presented to senior-level clients as the most senior strategic agency resource for The Wild.


As our go-to leader for strategy, you’ll play a central role in pitching for new projects and the strategic development of existing projects.


Oversees multiple strategy & brand planning projects working hand in glove with the social, creative and data and insight teams.


Leads in developing brand planning in relation to social, insight creative, media and strategy for New Business.


Must have excellent communication and presentation skills


Strategic development through interpreting our own proprietary data and insights, market insights and cultural consumer trends into a brand/comms strategy that is simple yet powerful and aligned with what the clients’ brands really need.


Performs all strategy tasks as needed to support new business, identify opportunities or course-correct at-risk projects.


Strong understanding of culture and emerging trends and an ability to apply these to content thinking.


They are highly visible to the client's senior management and working team members and are responsible for presenting program thinking and planning to both audiences.


Be able to provide guidance to the strategy team to develop briefs for big platform ideas that will be translated across channels with a focus on building brand equity and driving measurable ROI.


You raise the bar of our work through simple but bold planning, social-first innovation and magnetic pitching.




Background and Experience:


Proven leadership ability in a fast-paced, high-profile organisation; with a track record of leading strategic work that has demonstrably had proven success


Experience in differentiating core creative ideas from their executional treatments, and astute in assessing when these meet the brief and how they will influence behaviour;


Proven to be capable of guiding and nurturing creative work that meets clients’ briefs

An ability to multi-task, and manage multiple initiatives at different development stages

A natural ability to think strategically about a business and individual topics and issues

A drive for results and a challenge, being action orientated and pragmatic in approach

Experience in presentation and communication to a range of stakeholders and the ability to ‘bring people along’ on a journey and meeting deadlines

Interest in using and learning AI tools to support insight writing and idea generation a bonus


Core skills and competencies:


Proven experience devising and delivering complex strategies for major consumer brands. We’re looking for a Strategy Director with a breadth of experience across social/ digital /and comms strategy.


The ability to communicate ideas that inspire, both verbally and written


A skilled collaborator with excellent relationship building skills, both internally and externally.


Exceptional communication skills including the ability to present ideas and work collaboratively with others
