Position

Role Purpose



We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to support the Financial Controller in ensuring that the Finance function is a world-class, best-in-industry operation. They will have a broad involvement in ensuring that processes and procedures are adhered to in order to ensure that accurate and relevant information is reported to the business. The role will act as a strong business partner and be responsible for presenting analysis, messages and options for corrective actions if the trading is not meeting targets.

Key Responsibilities

It is envisaged that there will be a 50:50 split of time between management/financial accounting responsibilities and Planning/analysis work. Clear analysis, presentation and communication is important for both aspects of the role.


The role will be a mixture of financial/management reporting for the Media Business Unit as well as planning/analysis work which will be across the business. This will involve ad hoc analysis, which is used for investment cases, longer terms forecasting of key metrics (daily views as well as a regular weekly view on the next 6 months trading) and the compilation of slides from both Finance and the business that go towards the monthly Board pack. There is a clear timetable on deliverables for the Board pack – this employee is responsible for ensuring that these deadlines are met each month.


The role will work closely with the Finance team, especially when it comes to planning the Budget and Forecasts. The role will be crucial in partnering with senior business executives.


There will be a requirement to understand KPIs, analyse business metrics and present these metrics to the business and in Power Point presentations.


An understanding of the Business Planning model is important and the employee may have to deputise for other team members if they are on holiday.


The financial/management reporting will involve working with the Financial Controller, where you will be involved in all aspects of the finance function ensuring all postings to the ledgers are accurate and Management reports are produced in a timely manner. There will be cash deliverables relating to the Media Business Unit, which will involve working with the business and ensuring that debts are settled within credit terms.


● Month-End, responsible for Xero posting. Includes but is not limited to bank reconciling journals, accruals, prepayments and recharges.

● Management Accounts, prepare consolidated and departmental management accounts, Including an analytical review of results and commentary, and communicate underlying trends to the FC.

● P&L, ensure accurate postings to the general ledger and provide insights into any variances.

● Balance Sheet reconciliations, prepare month-end Balance Sheet reconciliations for review by the FC.

● Daily reporting on Snap and Facebook trading performance, vs the target.

● Monthly Video Economics analysis to show profitability by video type.

● XERO administration, ensure the data and functioning of the accounting system is up to date and reliable.

● Bank reconciliation, timely reconciliation of bank accounts on Xero ensuring all transactions are posted to the correct account and tax code.

● Budgeting, Providing support during the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts.

● Process Improvement, explore and suggest ways to improve the day-to-day accounting processes.

● Ad hoc, carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the FC or the Managing Director of Media.

Background and Experience

● Post-qualified experience of proven all-round accounting competence in a multi-entity/ group environment ideally gained in a Media business.

● Intermediate to advanced excel proficiency.

● Intermediate to advanced power point/Google slides proficiency.

● ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualification..

● Familiar with UK GAAP.

● Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills.

KPIs:

● All revenue, accruals, prepayments and recharges are posted to all ledgers by working day 3.

● Month-end closed, self-review and understanding of all P&L variances on working day 4

● Balance sheet and Bank reconciliations completed on Working day 5

● Preparation of the MI Pack with commentary to be discussed with the FC on working day 7
