Position

This is a great opportunity to join an established market leader within the Storage Equipment Industry. A part of the growing IWS Group of companies, The Rack Group have a team of dedicated storage equipment inspectors and trainers and we are looking to add to our team. The company has been operating and expanding since 1982 and you will be joining a market leader at an extremely exciting time. You will be joining a growing organisation that has a real family feel, with a fantastic support network.


Although our company is based in South Yorkshire, our customer portfolio is nationwide. We are looking for inspectors within the Midlands and South West areas who will be then assigned the region local to them. There is a moderate level of travel to this role with some overnight stays.


Your typical working week will involve a mixture of inspecting, reporting and engaging with clients, offering a professional, friendly and approachable outlook.


We are looking for a candidate with experience within this industry and a SEMA Inspector qualification would be advantageous.


Responsibilities:


  • Carry out inspections on industrial storage equipment as detailed within the department schedule, using current software and processes.
  • Undertake training on all appropriate software.
  • Produce high quality reports using industry standards along with current procedures and processes.
  • Complete inspections/projects in a variety of environments.
  • Provide technical and ongoing support to existing clients.
  • Offer where appropriate, other services and products to clients from the company profile.

Known Challenges:

  • Developing an understanding of the company and the industry in which it operates, and the challenges that it faces from internal and external factors relating to inspections/projects.
  • Maintaining knowledge of PUWER/Industry regulations.
  • Building skills and knowledge within the inspection software.

Success Management:

  • Build and maintain effective customer working relationships.
  • Meet or exceed customer’s expectations on delivery of inspection.
  • Maintenance of auditable documentation trails.
  • Be part of the Inspection working group, reviewing processes and systems to create an effective department.
  • Demonstration of continuous improvement.

Requirements

Training & Education:

Essential

  • Good standard of general education backed by a track record of continuing professional development.
  • Industrial Storage Equipment Experience
  • IPAF Licence
  • Working at Height/Harness Qualification

Desirable

  • Inspection of Industrial Storage Equipment Experience (PUWER Regulations).

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Able to prioritise and develop own work schedule.
  • Exemplary communication and customer engagement skills.
  • Commendable report writing skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with others to ensure business improvements and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of H&S regulations relevant to the industrial storage equipment industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of products, systems of work, inspection techniques and construction basics within the industry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Site Notes software.
  • Capable of working to challenging deadlines.
  • Initiative-taking, hands-on, can-do attitude.
  • Able to work independently and autonomously when required.
  • A result orientated problem solver.
  • Diligence, tenacious, persistent, and balanced.
  • Able to articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships, using communication skills.
