To mitigate climate change, cities need to find smarter ways to manage their resources and waste, while reducing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Since sustainable waste management and circular economy will be instrumental in this endeavour, the environmental impact of related activities needs to be explored to optimise waste treatment and support climate neutrality by 2030.

This position is oriented towards candidates interested in developing research aimed at obtaining their doctorate (PhD) in climate change, sustainability, environmental impact, waste and wastewater treatment and greenhouse gas emissions.

The candidate will develop his/her research in a research team centred on the sustainability and environmental impact of waste management and will design an innovative measurement solution of waste GHG generation for sustainable waste treatment and valorisation for a climate-neutral future.

Other tasks include writing reports, research papers and reviews, oriented towards the presentation of her/his PhD thesis.
