Once you have completed our intensive training, you will use your skills as a healthcare professional to assess cases of people who are applying for a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) and complete fair and accurate reports as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).

Our roles offer you the chance to change direction whilst providing you with the opportunity to maintain and develop your clinical registration, skills and knowledge.


There are lots of opportunities for development and progression within the PFAS team including Clinical coaching, training roles and Clinical Support Manager roles.

Position

As a Disability Assessor, you will play a crucial role in interviewing claimants to understand the challenges they face.


Salary: £40,000.00

Type: Permanent

Full time: 37.5 hours


By completing thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face-to-face means you will assess how our claimant’s disability/condition/illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non-biased and reassuring manner.

With proven experience of working within a medical background you will;

· Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.

· Interpret clinical information and evidence.

· Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct.

· Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.

Requirements

We would love to hear from you if you have:

· A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below)

· An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.

· Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office

Essentials Qualifications (without these your application cannot be considered)


Nurses:

· Qualified Nurse RGN, or dual qualified RMN/RNLD

· Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)


Physios/OTs:

· Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist

· Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)

· Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT)
