Innovyze operates in the water infrastructure software market which is experiencing structural growth, driven by multiple factors, including: emerging economies building water infrastructure to accommodate rapid urbanization; developed countries requiring increasingly sophisticated management of aging water resources; increasing levels of storms and floods as a result of climate change; and the need to manage the cost of water infrastructure ownership as total water infrastructure assets continue to grow.

The Sr. Software Engineering Manager, SaaS Application will lead a team of engineers and drive a culture of innovation while promoting engineering best practices. Reporting to the VP of engineering, this person will be responsible for development of Innovyze’s SaaS application for Operational Analytics.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, hire and manage a team of passionate engineers by providing clear direction, removing obstacles, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and providing strong mentorship across all levels
• Drive predictable engineering operation with measurable improvement in efficiency/time of shipping releases, SLA delivery, uptime, quality metrics, user satisfaction, and defect rates.
• Ensure excellence in development by fostering an environment of fearless engagement, emphasizing a balance between speed and quality, while encouraging healthy conflict and raising the red flag when risks arise.
• Set clear expectations and vision for the global engineering organization, setting and tracking goals and by soliciting, synthesizing, and delivering feedback to team members.
• Be a technical thought leader and effectively convey technical strategy to individuals as high as the Board.
• Partner with the pier vertical organization leaders to ensure customer-focused roadmap development.
• Cross functionally collaborate to drive strategic growth initiatives.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in a technology leadership role.
• Deep experience building cloud application software at scale within high growth software environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of a variety of different technical stacks and a strong knowledge of networking technologies, systems architecture, programming, and design/implementation of multi-tenant SaaS products.
• Architectural level understanding of modern cloud-based distributed systems, web, and native applications.
• Hands-on experience in AWS with any of the following technologies: Java, Spring boot, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js.
• Hands-on experience building web client facing applications leveraging JavaScript/ TypeScript and React.
• Experience with Embedded Analytics such as “Powered By Looker” – A strong plus.
• Strong analytical skills
• Thorough understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, certification a plus
• Mobile, ability to travel on occasion as business needs dictate and effectively work virtually as needed
• Experience delivering real-time distributed computing systems, preferably SaaS in a micro-services and/or serverless (e.g. Lambda) architecture utilizing message bus technology (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
