Position

Role Overview:

This role is full time and requires expertise in the configuration of Unix based operating systems, networking configuration, software installation and security best practices. Experience using AWS cloud infrastructure. The candidate should be able to read, write and implement standard operating procedures and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating system configuration:

  • Updates configuration and policy
  • Basic software installation and configuration
  • Supporting the development team configure cluster servers for pipelining and production systems
  • Deployment and maintenance of AWS Infrastructure
  • Building and administrating Unix instances and Docker containers
  • AWS infrastructure configuration and support
  • Projects and CI/CD requirements configuration and support
  • Deploy and configure AWS batch

User management:

  • Linux, VPN user administration and configuration
  • AWS user account management

Network configuration:

  • Network domain configuration and management
  • AWS networking configuration

Security configuration:

  • AWS Security Groups and ACL policy configuration
  • Individual sever security configuration (including web servers)
  • Network security configuration
  • HIPAA/GDPR requirement configuration (mainly best practices and accompanying documentation)
  • Monitor and administer security audits and penetration testing regularly

Development team support:

  • Advice on system architecture to the development team
  • Acting as a point of contact for IT vendor to assess and manage tickets and other tasks that may be assigned.

Liaise with third party IT providers

  • Coordinate with IT providers and manage outsourced tasks

 

HIPAA Compliance:

Position will:

  • Agree to abide by Employment and Confidentiality Agreements and End User Policies
  • Commit to stay up to date on training requirements for HIPAA
  • Understand the importance of the proper handling and disposal of ePHI and agrees to follow HIPAA Regulations
  • Abide by the requirements for the proper disposal of equipment containing ePHI
  • Agree to report breaches and the improper handling of ePHI to the Company’s Privacy and Security Officers

Requirements

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with Unix systems administration with exposure to database management

Requirements: (potentially for tech only applications?)

  • Experience of planning the infrastructure needs of a company
  • Experience managing a fleet of Unix servers
  • Experience configuring and maintaining network systems
  • Experience of supporting day-to-day operations
  • Experience of working in regulated environments
  • Experience of managing and configuring cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS, beneficial will be the production experience in ECS/ECR, AWS Batch
  • Ability to work closely with software development teams
  • Ability to work with and coordinate third party I.T vendors
  • Experience with control repository services such as Bitbucket
  • Experience with automated deployment services such as Jenkins
  • Experience with automated configuration systems such as Ansible/Puppet/Chef
  • Experience with IaC CloudBuild systems like Terraform/CloudFormation
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
