Position

Role Overview:

The software developer supports laboratory operations through the implementation and maintenance of software-based solutions that enhance laboratory workflows, data management, and data sharing. The software developer works with laboratory leadership to understand laboratory information technology requirements and assists with the selection or implementation of software and supporting hardware to meet those needs. The software developer works with commercial vendors, information technology (IT) staff, and laboratory staff to implement laboratory IT systems. The software developer also maintains and enhances laboratory IT systems to meet the constantly changing needs of the laboratory and its clients.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Support laboratory LIMS users and maintain current features, including deployment and hotfixes.
  • Contribute to the LIMS system documentation in accordance with Inivata’s regulatory needs.
  • Develop new LIMS functionalities that support the rollout of new assays and technologies
  • Support the IT technology stack that is necessary for Lab operations.
  • Lead the technical development of the LIMS and keep updated on new technologies that might better support our development and our users.
  • Maintain knowledge of IT functions required for LIMS operation including overall system architecture
  • Assist in making decisions that support LIMS selection, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement
  • Ensure clear and direct communication with laboratory staff, state IT staff, and vendors throughout LIMS development, testing, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance phases
  • Assist laboratory leadership in defining milestones for the completion of LIMS projects
  • Ensure LIMS requirements are clearly defined and understood by state IT workers and vendors
  • Perform LIMS testing and oversee application testing performed by laboratory staff

HIPAA/GDPR Compliance: Position will

  • Agree to abide by Employment and Confidentiality Agreements and End User Policies
  • Commit to stay up to date on training requirements for HIPAA/GDPR
  • Understand the importance of the proper handling and disposal of ePHI and agrees to follow HIPAA/GDPR Regulations
  • Abide by the requirements for the proper disposal of equipment containing ePHI
  • Agree to report breaches and the improper handling of ePHI to the Company’s Privacy and Security Officers
  • Produce and adhere to proper validation documentation

Requirements

Technical Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Object Oriented Software design and development
  • Proficient in relational and non-relational database design with minimum of 3 years of working with SQL
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in design and implementations of web and microservices
  • Minimum 2-year experience with DevOps
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Python
  • **Experience in LIMS a big plus**
  • ** Clarity LIMS experience a plus **

Skill requirement:

  • Full stack developer skills – proficiency in python, web development -Django, security knowledge, ansible deployment, admin skills, database ideally Postgres, AWS basic knowledge
  • Deep understanding of lab processes
  • Experience in API design and implementation
  • Understanding and work with cyber security concepts data privacy technologies.
  • Experience in requirement analysis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to communicate cross functional
  • Experience with Git or similar version control system
