Position

We’ve successfully retained and expanded a major client account, and as a result we’re hiring for a Project Manager to help us deliver against our objectives.

So, what does it look like? The role touches various areas of the business, but you’ll predominantly be working alongside Technology and Client Services.

Requirements

  • Facilitate the planning and delivery of a number of complex business change projects within an agreed programme and within agreed tolerances (time, scope, cost)
  • Control project delivery with the appropriate governance framework and tools so that projects are clearly defined, well executed and delivered in line with approved business/investment cases
  • Estimate, negotiate and track project resources, to ensure that tasks and activities remain on track – or workable alternatives are identified and proposed to the Sponsor
  • Design, schedule and facilitate relevant project meetings to ensure that the wide variety of stakeholders are kept fully informed, involved and engaged and the change is properly embedded in ‘business as usual’
  • Lead and drive activity from both internal and external resources against complex project plans to ensure that the various workstreams progress as expected, risks are managed, quality is maintained and hurdles are overcome
  • Track and report project progress so that momentum is achieved, risks and issues are surfaced for resolution and confidence is maintained with the senior stakeholders

Other information

  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner or APMP) or equivalent, with experience of right-sizing governance to fit the project and programme
  • In-depth experience of managing the full lifecycle across a wide variety of projects, and experience of producing the full suite of governance documentation (eg Project Initiation Documents, multi-workstream plans, risk and issue logs, action logs etc)
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and techniques (eg TeamGantt, Trello)
  • Wide ranging knowledge of business systems and processes, with particular experience of liaising with 3rd party suppliers
  • Conceptual and critical thinking, particularly where new systems are being designed and no precedent exists
  • Attention to detail – to quickly grasp the subject matter of new projects and to manage the vast amount of detailed actions that come out of project activity
  • Good coaching and facilitation skills with experience of managing a wide range of stakeholders from all levels in the organisation, up to Executive Sponsors
