Position

The Head of Sales is responsible for the revenue and sales order value achievement across Enterprise new business and retentions. The role is to drive, motivate and lead the business to achieve goals through effective direction and management.

Requirements

  • To ensure a sales pipeline is maintained through:
  1. The Sales teams fully adopt the CRM (Salesforce)
  2. Develop existing client base, through clear client development plans (upsell and cross-sell opportunities through the Retentions team)
  3. Create new opportunities to stimulate sales
  4. Contribute to the creation of sales campaigns
  • Management of SOV and revenue, including responsibility for revenue and cost budget:
  1. Focus on improving budgeted revenue and profitability
  2. Regular and accurate re-forecasting
  3. Accurate forecasting and action plans to achieve targets
  4. To co-ordinate/align company growth strategy with technical strategy and financial plans
  • To identify and mitigate any commercial risk to the business, by applying experience and knowledge of the energy industry in partnership with the Enterprise Senior Management Team
  • Work with the Enterprise Senior Management Team to embed new control environment around the sales order processes and sales commissions; together with new policies and governance
  • To lead the business area to continuously improve and develop business process and systems and driving efficiencies with guidance from the Head of Enterprise
  • Attract, grow and retain productive staff levels in line with business requirements and to enable the business to meet its SOV targets and sales strategy
  • Work with relevant stakeholders and direct reports (Sales Managers) to ensure generated data to assist and enhance an efficient and effective performance
  • Lead the operation to identify sales opportunities and maximise all company goals
  • To coordinate/ align company growth strategy with technical strategy and financial plans
  • Manage multi-site locations effectively to deliver overall Enterprise goals

Other information

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience 
  • Strong track record of previous experience: leading sales teams with a proven track record of building a strong and high performing team
  • Previous experience in a senior sales role demonstrating the ability to meet sales targets
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the sales team
  • Have an in-depth knowledge and experience within the Sales field
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Track record of delivering and growing sales results in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous energy experience (desirable)
  • Leads from the front and creates passion and energy for delivering results in business as usual or change environment
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications, including; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
