Position

Hope for Justice has an exciting opportunity for a Senior investigator role in our Midwest region, based in Iowa. We are seeking a committed and talented individual with a background in investigation and training to join the staff of our Hub.


The Senior Investigator will identify and secure the release of victims of human trafficking across the Midwest, directly and by assisting local law enforcement, building on Hope for Justice’s award-winning Hub model that is already successfully changing lives elsewhere in the USA


The Senior Investigator will also need to have the skills to complete intelligence reports for relevant law enforcement agencies to facilitate the

prosecution of perpetrators, as well as Hope for Justice’s own case files (which may include evidential or disclosure material). The role also includes day-to-day management and leadership responsibilities, which could grow as the Hub does. This challenging and vitally important role calls for someone with a minimum of five years’ experience carrying out investigations in a law enforcement or similar setting and of working with vulnerable people in trauma-informed ways.

Requirements


Investigations and rescues

· Identify victims and witnesses and obtain accounts using appropriate integrity and compassion for vulnerable victims.

· Develop networks and engage with stakeholders to identify potential victims of trafficking.

· Collect all relevant documentation, information or data that is required in an investigation to form an overall picture of the circumstances of the case.

· Working as necessary with law enforcement and other actors, secure the rescue of victims of human trafficking and modern slavery.

· Advocate on behalf of victims with other agencies, ensuring immediate post-rescue support is available.

· Complete intelligence reports for relevant law enforcement agencies to facilitate the prosecution of perpetrators of human trafficking and modern slavery.

· Completion of HFJ case files including, where appropriate, evidential or disclosure material.


Networking

· Develop and maintain working relationships with multi-agency partners.

· Represent Hope for Justice at meetings and give presentations when required.


Supervision and other responsibilities

· Provide day-to-day team leadership for the Iowa Investigator/Trainer

· Respond to ad hoc assignments requested from time to time by managers.

· Ensure harmonious working with all Hope for Justice departments and staff.

· Work at all times in line with HFJ policies and procedures and the wider strategy, culture and ethos of Hope for Justice.

Location: Iowa

Salary: Up to $62,000 depending on experience
