Stellenbeschreibung

Purpose

We are growing our translational science capabilities and have 3 positions open, focused on biomarkers, organoids and target identification and validation, and Immunology, respectively. We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals with the Biomarker and Organoid roles at SS2 or Principal Scientist level (depending on experience), and the Immunology role at PhD / experienced graduate Scientist level.

The creation of these positions reflects our commitment to developing cutting edge translational science strategies to support our core therapeutic areas of gastro-intestinal, immunology & immunology-oncology, and, CNS.

The Translational Science team support all drug discovery phases to provide a better understanding of the molecular drivers of efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics, and guiding identification of biomarkers of target/mechanism response. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate with other scientists in the group, as well as with other members within the Discovery and Development organisations, scientists from external contract research organisations (CROs) and academic or industrial partners.

Position:

Looking to recruit an experienced post-doctoral researcher in organoid biology and TIV, interested working in a biotech environment. The translation science group in Sosei Heptares cover the full spectrum of preclinical drug discovery from target identification and validation through to in vivo PK/PD modelling and biomarker discovery. This role is focussed at the early end of the portfolio on target identification and validation. We work with a predominantly outsourced model for this work but are aligned with the pharmacology department for some activities. We have recognised the increased importance of working with humanised model systems derived from iPSC or core stem cells that enable coculture of multiple cell types.

Anforderungsprofil

  • PhD in a relevant subject area
  • Good experience of core stem cell or organoid culture techniques.
  • Use of organoids to validate novel disease relevant biology.
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Experience of collaborations across multiple laboratories
  • Experience of working with contract research organisations a bonus
