Sosei Heptares has approximately 161 employees based at its new R&D research facility at Granta Park. The size of the company ensures a transparent linkage between all activities from early discovery through to clinical development.

Position

Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Management, you will be supporting R&D projects in a fast-paced Biotech environment, contributing to the management of the company’s extensive portfolio of discovery and development programmes as well as working closely with Project Leaders to support projects transition through our portfolio in line with the company’s core business objectives.

Based on portfolio requirements you will be deployed to partner with a project leadership team and as the Project Management expert, you will be expected to provide professional in-depth knowledge of your discipline. You will thrive from working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting multiple projects in unison and operating with broad latitude in a complex environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and manage well-structured, clear project plans
  • Identify critical path activities and advise on priorities and dependencies, whilst supporting PLs in determining project risks, constraints, and mitigation plans
  • Provide scenario planning to aid robust decision making through in-depth analysis of project activities.
  • Support portfolio management to provide an overview of milestone timings, forecasts, and portfolio level resource management.
  • Distil complex information into clear, succinct messages and tailor communication to the relevant stakeholder group, Manage and resolve conflicts within the project environment and ensure that the outcome is communicated to all those affected
  • Work with project leaders to help prepare project budgets and ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting and budget management
  • Support project leaders in the organisation of project team meetings, preparation of minutes and follow-up when required, according to the project and portfolio best practices
  • Liaise with Business Development and help coordinate/support requests to the project team
  • Ensure full compliance with all Company policies, key industry standards and relevant accreditations. Act as project assurance and as a champion of quality
  • Take a broad perspective to identify new ways of working and potential opportunities to share best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Greater than 3 years’ experience as the lead Project Manager on complex R&D projects
  • Professional project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP)
  • Science related degree and either MSc or PhD (preferable)
  • Good knowledge of the Drug Discovery and Development process
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and effective presentation style
  • Excellent general IT skills (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, SharePoint etc.)
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficient stakeholder management - building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries.
  • Ability to influence individuals without having direct authority over them.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently to demanding and changing schedules and priorities.
  • Highly organised with good time management stills.
  • Ability to follow directions, SOP's and processes
