Sosei Heptares has approximately 161 employees based at its new R&D research facility at Granta Park. The size of the company ensures a transparent linkage between all activities from early discovery through to clinical development.

Puesto

We are now seeking an experienced and enthusiastic scientist to provide cell culture expertise and support to our protein production facility. The candidate will be part of the Protein Expression and Biochemistry group which supports our drug discovery platform.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Sterile cell culture techniques
  • Handling of adherent and suspension mammalian and insect cell cultures
  • Experience with transient transfection and baculovirus mediated transduction methods
  • Experience with protein expression protocols
  • Performing expression quality control (QC) experiments using methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, fluorescence size exclusion chromatography, FACS and radio-ligand binding assays
  • Protein purification skills using affinity and size-exclusion chromatography
  • Molecular biology skills such as PCR, ligation-dependent and independent cloning, plasmid and bacmid purification
  • Organisational skills such as monitoring and replenishing laboratory consumable stocks and coordinating protein expression logistics
  • Comprehensive and accurate record keeping and reporting

Requisitos

  • Educated to Master’s degree level (Grade 2.1 or equivalent) and/or with significant professional experience in biological sciences
  • Previous laboratory experience in an industry environment is highly desirable
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of cell culture
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of protein expression and purification
  • Organised, enthusiastic, and comfortable working both autonomously and in a team environment
  • Highly competent user of MS Office applications (MS Office 365, SharePoint, etc…)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
