Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic clinical stage biotech where you can develop your career and directly impact at both the project and strategic level?

The Translational Sciences department at Sosei Heptares is seeking an associate director/director of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology to develop and drive the integration of mechanistic models of disease biology, drug pharmacokinetics/pharmacology and toxicology to support effective translation from in vitro and in vivo to humans.

The successful individual will be empowered to develop and lead the translational quantitative systems pharmacology strategy across a broad range of projects and therapeutic areas, working closely with internal colleagues and our external collaborators.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to work in the following areas:

  • Develop and provide leadership of the Quantitative Systems Pharmacology strategy in support of the internal and externally partnered portfolio.
  • Responsible for applying state of the art modelling and simulation approaches to drive project decision-making (e.g. PK/PD, PBPK, pharmacometrics, systems-based, informatics), to support compartmental and mechanism-based PK/PD analysis, PK and PBPK modelling, non-clinical safety risk assessment, prediction of FIH dose and regimen recommendations.
  • Support, identify and drive internal and external collaborations and relationships to build and refine cutting-edge modelling capabilities.
  • Communicate and present updates and input to the Research and Development leadership and external collaborations.
  • Contribute to portfolio governance through program reviews and collaborative decision-making and leads infrastructure / best practice initiatives.
  • Provide due diligence input and support for business development/partnering activities as required
  • Mentor junior staff to ensure they value scientific excellence.

Requisitos

The preferred candidate will have the following:

  • A Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field with 5+ years of relevant Pharma/Biotech experience in modelling and simulation - expertise in the application of Phoenix WinNonlin, PBPK related software, and R is required.
  • Externally recognized for scientific leadership in quantitative pharmacology demonstrating a sustained record of scientific productivity as evidenced by the development and/or implementation of new technical strategies, methods, processes and publications relevant to drug discovery and/or development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in application of PK/PD modelling and simulation in support of pharmacology study design and use of biomarkers for project and portfolio decision making.
  • Excellent understanding of drug development, regulatory processes and clinical development requirements.
  • A strategic thinker who can generate and communicate ideas and opportunities and turn them into successful results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities and proven ability to influence colleagues, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals and work independently within a matrix organization.
