Overview
At GPI, data, a product in its own right, is also the foundation on which our high-value analytics and research is based. As an insights business we’ve identified a need for data science and advanced analytics to help develop our product roadmap to enable a more differentiated, and compelling set of services for our clients in the pricing and market access domain.
The Head of Data Innovation will bring data science and advanced analytics capabilities into GPI, developing strong relationships with various departments across the organisation to increase our ability to delight customers and take our products and services to the next level.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Establish a strategy for data science and associated capabilities on advanced analytics and AI technology to extract differentiating meaning from GPI data sets.
- Applying data science techniques to extract insights from our large, proprietary corpus of pricing and market access data.
- Utilising machine learning to augment our human intelligence and accelerate our data ingest processes and external insights provision
- Strong emphasis on automation and scalability from the outset
- Work alongside our software engineers to take models/analyses all the way to live, production systems.
- Explaining techniques used in plain, jargon-free language, to ensure the business (and sometimes clients) fully understand the benefits and any limitations.
- Staying abreast of new tools and techniques and applying them appropriately.
- Directly supporting the commercial team with the launch of GPI Horizon
Key Subject Matter / Technical Skills
- Foster an agile, high-performance, collaborative culture which is creative, open, supportive and dynamic with high levels of continuous improvement mind-set.
- Experience managing data through its lifecycle (especially sourcing, validating, and deploying).
- Experience with ETL and data manipulation tools helpful, such as Alteryx or managing other relevant systems.
- Experience with different types of databases, including structured and unstructured.
- Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to work across regions and cultures.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with advanced statistical techniques
- Experience developing and deploying machine learning models
- Highly proficient in at least one programming language with good data science support (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, etc.)
- Extremely strong written and spoken English
