Position

We currently have a vacancy for a Software Engineer to work within the Coventry Office. Salary £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

Main responsibility

As part of a small team, you will be designing, implementing and supporting the development and functional integration effort for the control, management, and data plane components in our bonded xDSL solutions.

Requirements

To be interviewed you will need:

  • A BSc (2.1 or above) in computer science, electrical engineering, or information systems with a software engineering focus, or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 2+ years industry experience working on relevant complex software engineering projects in a modern implementation language such as C/C++ or Java.
  • To be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of modern structured software engineering principles, hardware and software architectures, tools and practices.
  • Clear and precise written communication skills both in all aspects of your communications with us.

At interview you should be able to demonstrate:

  • An ability to work collaboratively to solve complex technical problems in a multi-disciplined environment with a strong focus on commercial pressures.
  • A structured, systematic approach to problem solving that focuses on innovation through good understanding of the domain.
  • Good verbal skills with the ability to present technical information in a concise and logical manager.

Highly desirable:

  • Practical experience working in telecommunications networks, and/or network management.
  • Experience developing real time systems for embedded software applications, particularly for networking or network management applications.
  • A solid working understanding of layer 2 and 3 network protocols and network architecture.
  • Experience implementing Kernel or device driver software, working in firmware, or developing for highly parallel systems.
  • Experience developing applications for, or deploying, xDSL technologies.
