Due to continued growth in our business in the UK, we are opening a new office in the midlands and we are looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer for a position in the Gas Networks sector of the company. The role will be predominantly relating to design, but will be a client facing role with the opportunity for developing business through a number of new and existing consultancy frameworks.

Senior Design Engineer – REF: 2116

The Senior Design Engineer will have a client facing role. An example of some of the responsibilities for the role as the business needs require are as follows:

• Design & PM from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Gas sector in areas such as AGI and PRI – New Build, modification and Capacity Upgrades and Tx Pipeline Diversion or New Tx Pipeline
• Level 1, 2 & 3 routing studies and design to IGEM/TD/1
• Design to IGEM/TD/13
• Co-ordinate design team including civil, E&I, CP and drafting team members.
• Development of BIM models and Design Drawings and specifications in conjunction with our BIM and CAD teams
• Development of Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed Design Reports
• Hazardous Area Classification & ATEX Assessments
• Attend and participate in HAZID/ HAZOP and LOPA studies
• Managing design to IGEM/GL/5
• CDM Coordinator
• Interest in the Energy Transition and new energy solutions such as hydrogen and carbon capture and storage.
• Attending client sites and offices, developing relationships, and assisting the FW management team with developing proposals

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

• Engineering degree (Hons Bachelor degree or higher) in Mechanical, Civil or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.
• 7+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience. CEng would be beneficial but not essential.
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
• Familiarity with the suites of GDN Design specifications would be beneficial but not essential
• IGEM/GL/5 G/17 Design Approver/Appraiser would be beneficial but not essential
• Full Clean Driving License
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential
