Due to continued growth in the business, we are looking to recruit a Project Design Engineer for a position in the gas networks sector with the opportunity to gain experience across all sectors as the role progresses.

Project Design Engineer – REF: 2121b

The Role

The Project Design Engineer will have a client facing role. An example of some of the responsibilities for the role as the business needs require are as follows:

  • Design & Project coordination from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Gas network sector in areas such as:
    • AGI and PRI Capacity Upgrades,
    • Renewable Gas (Biogas, Biomethane and Hydrogen),
    • Tx Pipeline Diversion,
    • AGI Heating Systems Replacements,
    • AGI new build.
    • New Tx Pipeline.
  • Level 1, 2 & 3 routing studies and design to IGEM/TD/1
  • Design to IS EN 328, IS EN 12186, IGEM/TD/13
  • Innovation and Development projects in the areas of Hydrogen and Biomethane
  • Co-ordinate design team including graduates, civil, E&I, CP and drafting team members
  • Development of Design Drawings and specifications
  • Development of Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed Design Reports
  • Hazardous Area Classification & ATEX Assessments
  • Attend and participate in HAZID/ HAZOP and LOPA studies
  • Carry out PSDP/ CDM role

Fingleton White is an Engineers Ireland's CPD Accredited Employer and have systems in place to provide employees with targeted training and experience relevant to their grade. Support is also provided to achieving CEng through CPD and mentoring.

Requirements

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

  • Engineering degree (Level 8 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar discipline
  • 4+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Awareness of Gas Industry Standards
  • Full Clean Drivers License
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team

Location: The location for this role will be in our Dublin office with some flexibility.
