Due to continued growth in the business, we are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Coordinator with particular emphasis on Design Safety.

Position

Health & Safety Coordinator – REF: 2113b

The Role – The Health & Safety Coordinator will work with Fingleton White’s HSQE team and also our project delivery team. Some of the responsibilities for the role are as follows:

Design Safety

Duties of Designer and PSDP.

Assisting Senior Engineers and H&S Coordinators with delivering the role of Designer and/or PSDP in accordance with the requirements of the SHWW (Construction) Regulations 2013 and FW PSDP Process:

  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment & Coordination of Designers
  • Preparation of Preliminary Safety & Health Plan
  • Communication with PSCS for design related construction issues
  • Preparation of Safety Files

Occupational H&S

Assist the Fingleton White HSQE team with management, review and continuous improvement of our ISO 45001 accredited H&S System including:

  • Internal audits
  • Promoting safety culture and safety competency for staff including training

Construction Safety

  • Duties of PSCS or Clients H&S representative.
  • Review of PSCS/Contractor documentation.
  • Audits of construction sites to ensure safety compliance.

The successful applicant will receive, in parallel to project work, guidance & training to familiarise them with our company's approach to Health & Safety.

Fingleton White is an Engineers Ireland's CPD Accredited Employer and have systems in place to provide employees with targeted training and experience relevant to their grade.

Requirements

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Health & Safety qualification (Level 7 or Higher).
  • Although previous Design or Construction Safety experience would be an advantage, training will be provided to the successful applicant.
  • Other relevant qualifications pertaining to our company’s field of work such as Engineering, Environment or Project Management would also be considered in selection.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

Location: The location for this role will be in our Portlaoise office, however we will also consider applications for our Cork or Galway offices.
