Due to continued growth in the business we are looking to recruit a Graduate GIS Technician.

Position

Graduate GIS Technician – REF: 2122

The Role - We require a Graduate GIS Technician to work within the Smallworld GIS platform to model above and below ground assets. Tasks to be performed by the Graduate GIS Technician include:

  • Creation of route maps, strip maps and wayleave maps utilising GIS.
  • Data Capture from a number of drawing formats including DGN, DXF etc. into GIS.
  • Data capture from reference documentation in office format or raster.
  • Data capture of field data.
  • Creation of site works drawings.
  • Provision of reports as required.

Requirements

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum qualification of a cert in GIS, 2D CAD Design using AutoCAD or MicroStation such as provided by City & Guilds or an equivalent.
  • If the candidate has any relevant qualifications pertaining to our company’s field of work such as a National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, this would also be considered in selecting our successful applicant.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

Location: The location for this role will be in our Dublin office.
