Fingleton White provide multidiscipline engineering services for the energy industry including power generation and natural gas design and installations. Due to continued growth in the business we are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer for a position in the energy and industrial utilities sector with opportunity to gain experience across all sectors as the role progresses.

Position

Electrical Engineer – REF: 2002 Elec Eng

The Role - The Candidate will initially be involved in the following areas:

  • Preparation of electrical technical designs & submissions.
  • Design of electrical instrumentation.
  • Prepare cable, IO & power schedules.
  • Evaluation and selection of sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Understanding and ability to update, single line diagrams, panel schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
  • Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
  • Generate specifications for parts.
  • Control the efficiency of processes.
  • Design & implementation of energy saving projects.
  • Participate in all phases of projects, from engineering, to the procurement and construction.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders in project implementation to achieve project and company goals.

Career Progression – The Electrical Engineer will have the opportunity within Fingleton White to be involved in the following sectors as their career progresses:

  • Industrial utilities design
  • Water, wastewater, oil and gas pipeline installations
  • Combined heat & power plant
  • Renewable energy projects such as hydro, solar and bioenergy projects
  • Project management

Support will be given to achieving CEng through CPD and mentoring.

Requirements

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

  • Engineering degree (Level 8 or higher) in mechanical, process, electrical, energy engineering or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above, granted by Engineer Irelands Chartered Engineer Accredited Programmes.
  • 2 years + relevant post-graduate experience.
  • Good academic record.
  • Full clean driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

 

Other information

Location:  The location for this role will be in our Portlaoise office, however if a suitable candidate has a preference to be located in either our Cork, Dublin or Galway office, this will be considered.
