Due to continued growth in the business we are looking to recruit a Design Engineer for a position in the energy and industrial utilities sector with the opportunity to gain experience across all sectors as the role progresses. 

Position

Design Engineer – REF: 2008c

The Role - The Design Engineer will have a client facing role. An example of some of the responsibilities for the role as the business needs require are as follows:

  • Design & Project Management from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Energy and Utilities sectors in areas such as:
    • Water, Wastewater, Oil and Gas Pipelines and Installations
    • Combined Heat & Power plant
    • Renewable Energy Projects e.g. Biogas, Biomass, CHP, Solar, Hydro and others
    • Industrial Utilities
  • Development of Preliminary and Detailed Design Calculations
  • Development of Design Drawings and specifications
  • Development of Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed Design Reports
  • Hazardous Area Classification & ATEX Assessments
  • Balance of Plant Design
  • Design & implementation of energy saving projects
  • Industrial utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration & compressed air systems

Career Progression – The Design Engineer will have the opportunity to progress their career within Fingleton White to be involved in the various business sectors to provide experience across a wide range of projects. Fingleton White is an Engineers Ireland's CPD Accredited Employer and have systems in place to provide employees with targeted training and experience relevant to their grade. Support is also provided to achieving CEng through CPD and mentoring.

 

Requirements

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

  • Engineering degree (Level 8 or higher) in Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Civil, Energy Engineering or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.
  • 5+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience. 
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good academic record
  • Full Clean Driving License
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
