Due to continued growth in the business we are recruiting for positions in the utilities sector with opportunity to gain experience across sectors as the role progresses.

Position

Design Engineer – REF: 2008a

The Role – Fingleton White are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join our Gas Networks design team. The successful candidate will join an established company and will have the opportunity to acquire a broad range of skills and experience in design and project management. The initial role will include: 

  • Surveying of natural gas installations
  • Design from first principles
  • Design to ensure compliance with ATEX directive
  • Design of upgrade works across gas distribution and transmission networks
  • Liaising with local authorities, gas customers and other stakeholders
  • Development of innovative design solutions
  • Presentation of design solutions to client

Requirements

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

  • Engineering degree (Level 8 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar discipline
  • 5+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good academic record
  • Full clean driving license
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
