Due to continued growth in the business we are looking to recruit a Civil Design Engineer for a position in the energy and industrial utilities sector with opportunity to gain experience across all sectors as the role progresses.

Position

Civil Design Engineer – REF: 1928a Civil Eng

The Role - The Candidate will initially be involved in the following projects:

  • Design of projects from conceptual phase through to project completion e.g. Energy projects including renewables, Pipelines and Installations (Gas, Oil, Water or Waste Water), Industrial buildings & Utilities
  • Statutory requirements for new developments such as planning, fire cert and DAC applications, PPC license requirements,
  • BCAR requirements and Design in accordance with Building Regulations
  • Design of new and modifications to existing gas and water installations
  • Design requirements for energy projects such as Solar, Hydro, CHP and Power Stations
  • Design of other Energy Infrastructure related projects

Career Progression – The Design Engineer will have the opportunity to progress their career within Fingleton White to be involved in the various business sectors to provide experience across a wide range of projects. Fingleton White is an Engineers Ireland's CPD Accredited Employer and have systems in place to provide employees with targeted training and experience relevant to their grade. Support is also provided to achieving CEng through CPD and mentoring.

Requirements

The Candidate - The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline granted by Engineer Irelands Chartered Engineer Accredited Programmes.
  • 3 years + relevant experience.
  • Good academic record
  • Full clean driver’s license
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team

Other information

Location:  The location for this role will be in our Galway office, however if a suitable candidate has a preference to be located in either our Cork or Portlaoise office, this will be considered.
