We understand that natural gas, biomethane and hydrogen all have a key role in transitioning to low carbon and achieving zero carbon. Greening of gas networks will be fundamental for supporting intermittent renewable energy sources such as Wind and Solar. Our Gas Networks design team are delivering projects in areas such as Biogas from Anaerobic Digestion, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen and Biomethane for grid injection and transport. Expertise in these areas will be key for the future as they provide unique and complex challenges that requires highly technical and specialised engineering solutions.

The Role….

CAD/BIM Technician – REF: 2231d

Due to continued growth in the business we wish to recruit a CAD/BIM Technician to work as part of our design team.

The location for this role will be in our Cork office, however we will also consider applications for our Portlaoise, Dublin, Galway or Antrim offices.

Duties of Position:

• The successful applicant will work as part of our BIM team.
• The applicant’s duties will include use of Autodesk programs within the AEC Package such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Civil 3D, Advance Steel, Navisworks and BIM 360 amongst others, to produce BIM Models & project drawings from Design through to As-Built stage by working in conjunction with & under the direction of our engineers.
• The role will be focused on the production of 3D Mechanical piping models and Civil / Structural models and the coordination & utilization of same to generate Orthographic Drawings but will also include traditional 2D Drafting work using AutoCAD.

We require an applicant who would like to pursue a career in BIM. The successful applicant will receive, in parallel to project work, guidance & training to familiarise them with our company's methodology & standards in relation to the production of our drawings.

The Candidate….

The ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant third level qualification (minimum Level 7 in Mechanical, Civil Engineering or similar) &/or commensurate industry experience using Autodesk Software.
• 2+ years post graduate experience.
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
• Ability to work to agreed timelines and to a high standard.
