Position

About the role

The ECF Strategic Partnerships team oversees the relationships with the funders, the board and key stakeholders.  

The Director, Strategic Partnerships is looking for a motivated and eager Senior Officer who plays a key role in planning, executing, monitoring funders relationships projects. The Senior Officer acts as the guardian of the funding partnership lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director, Strategic Partnerships, the Senior Officer will have the following responsibilities:

Proposal project management

  • Co-design and development of funder proposals: develop workplan for proposal developments, coordinate between ECF programmes, funders and the ECF operations department; pull together all input needed for the proposal;
  • Ensure the end to end delivery of proposals and renewals; keep track of the project planning, milestones, progress reports deliverables and deadlines;
  • Ensure risk management: identify and communicate risks or potential issues that could affect the progression of the proposal, define potential solutions;
  • Develop and revise processes and tools used to plan and prepare proposals.

Data management and reporting

  • Review, improve or set up reporting processes and data management tools;
  • Acquire, validate, store, protect and process required funders information to ensure accessibility, reliability and timeliness of the data for its users;
  • Put in place regular reporting processes based on the strategic partner’s needs;

Support in funder and prospect management

  • Develop planning tools and processes and constantly improve them to enable the team to develop, implement and monitor the donor stewardship and fundraising plan.

 

Requirements

Experience and competencies

  • A genuine interest in the mission and values of the ECF;

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management and ideally experience within philanthropy;

  • Strong skills in managing and visualizing data and numbers;

  • Proven knowledge on project & data management tools is an asset; 

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills;

  • Pro-active, flexible, able to perform under pressure and a strong sense of responsibility;

  • A team player, but also able to work independently;

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
