Company Description

About the European Climate Foundation

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was founded in 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to help tackle climate change by fostering the development of a low-carbon society at the national, European and global level.

We support over 350 partner organisations to carry out activities that contribute to the public debate on climate action, drive urgent and ambitious policy in support of the objectives of the Paris Agreement and help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero emissions economy and sustainable society in Europe and around the world.

Position

Context of the role

In the last years, ECF has worked in broadening the climate action coalition in Europe. It has increased its co-operation with consumers, health associations, economic actors, business associations, and many others. This trend of working with new constituenties is expected to increase in the future in a targeted way. In seeking system change, ECF and the climate community at large, have to understand the different ecosystems of relevant actors, to ensure they reach out to the right stakeholders.

As a Network Enabler, ECF began to work on Network Analysis in different ecosystems where it is present. It has begun to explore ways to map and analyse stakeholders within certain networks, and studied the connections, paths and other topological features of network graphing. Such network analysis can play an important role in the development and articulation of existing and future strategies, in capacity building of the field, but also in evaluation and knowledge management. ECF has decided to launch a Network Analysis (NA) unit to bring this topic to the next level.

As Manager of the NA unit, you will lead its developments, connect with ECF programmes and partners to identify strategic needs, and to investigate how NA can bring responses.

The NA Manager leads the NA team and reports to the ECF Chief Operations Officer.
