About the Forum New Economy
The Forum New Economy is a Berlin-based non-partisan platform launched in 2019 with the aim to accelerate the emergence of a new paradigm that leads to economically, socially and ecologically more sustainable prosperity. The Forum seeks to drive new approaches at the interface between academia and policy. It does so by promoting innovative research to respond to major challenges such as inequality, financial instability and climate change. The Forum informs current policy debates, by disseminating new insights, and by bringing together leading innovative academics with policymakers and a broader public in Germany and beyond.
The Forum works as an autonomous unit under the legal entity of the European Climate Foundation. It is also supported by the Mercator Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation, the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET), as well as by a high-level group of academic partners. It is run by a Berlin-based bureau in which six full-time members are working in a highly dynamic team at the frontier between new thinking and policymaking.
About the role
As Head of Policy & Economic Analysis you will coordinate our efforts to identify relevant new economic approaches designed to practically solve the main challenges the Forum is working on, push innovative research and introduce it via the formats run by the Forum. You will build and sustain a network in the German and increasingly continental European economic advisory and policy making scene. You will communicate the Forum's agenda, e.g. by participating in panel discussions or moderating events. Internally, you will work in close collaboration with the Director on the Forum's strategy and programme. External representation may also include supporting the Forum's fundraising efforts.
