Position

Key responsibilities


· Offer legal guidance and advice to the ECF’s HR team on a wide range of employment law issues, including but not limited to recruitment, contracts, employee relations, performance management, and terminations.

· Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to assess the impact of local labor laws and regulations on HR policies and practices in different countries.

· Review and draft employment contracts, policies, handbooks, and other HR-related documents to ensure compliance with local legal requirements and organizational standards.

· Collaborate closely with regional teams to address legal concerns and provide tailored solutions that align with local laws and cultural considerations.

· Stay updated on changes in employment regulation and legislation across various jurisdictions and advise on potential implications for HR practices and policies.

· Assist in the resolution of employment disputes and claims, as necessary.

· Develop and deliver training sessions on HR-related legal topics to HR professionals and other relevant staff members.

· Coordinate with external legal counsels and manage relationships with legal service providers as needed.

Requirements

Experience and competencies


· Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in practicing law, with a focus on employment law or HR-related legal matters.

· Strong understanding of international employment laws and regulations.

· Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

· Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Previous experience working in the non-profit sector or with international organizations is a plus.
