Position

About the role

The French office of the European Climate foundation is accepting applications for a student to join their strategic communications team (3 people). The intern will be doing mostly strategic digital work to push our climate action agenda in France, supporting the needs of the ECF, its grantees and partner organizations.

Key responsibilities

  • Helping to devise, implement and evaluate communication projects and strategies in France with partner organizations, activists and influencer networks (including press relations and social media strategies)
  • Monitoring traditional and social media debates on climate
  • Supporting the Strategic Communications team in its traditional media activities: pitching French journalists (based on English-language materials), maintaining, and developing our contacts lists and emailing system
  • Ad-hoc research and reporting work

Requirements

Experience and competencies

  • You are in your Master’s years with an expertise in (digital) communications and/or political science. A first experience in one of these fields is a plus.
  • A good understanding of the workings of social media
  • Enthusiasm to help reframe the public debate around the issues of climate change
  • Willingness to try out new things (online grassroots mobilization, coaching influencers, running ads campaigns, etc.)
  • A taste for digital tools and making systems work (a passion for sheets, Google suite, Airtable and emailing systems is a plus)
  • Team player & willingness to take initiative & a certain degree of autonomy
  • A strong sense of confidentiality
  • Fluent French, good command of English (oral and written)
