The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was founded in 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to help tackle climate change by fostering the development of a low-carbon society at the national, European and global level.
We support over 500 partner organisations to carry out activities that contribute to the public debate on climate action, drive urgent and ambitious policy in support of the objectives of the Paris Agreement and help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero emissions economy and sustainable society in Europe and around the world.
As towns, cities and countries around the world declare climate emergencies, seas rise, forests burn, glaciers melt, increasing numbers of people take to the streets demanding urgent action and our societies begin to wake up to what the science has been saying for many years, there has never been a more important time to be working on climate change.
We are seeking a Communications Associate, Bangladesh for our strategic communications team which is the outreach unit of the foundation. This position will see you assist the Bangladesh country team with building and maintaining a diverse network of partners and stakeholders across the climate and energy sector and providing them with strategic communications support and media relations service. The role involves networking and communications at local, regional and international levels. Partners and stakeholders include, among others, environmental justice NGOs, business associations, trade unions, think tanks, the financial sector, grassroots/community groups, health sector leaders, air/water/land pollution experts, economists and other academics - both locally and abroad.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic communications professional with the ambition to make a difference and play an active role in helping speed up the transition to a low-carbon future. The position will be closely linked to an international team of peers and partners in key countries around the world. Further information will be provided to candidates selected for the interview.
