Acting as a technical expert, go-to team member and mentor for an Engineering team, our Senior Software Engineers are critical to our product and business success.

As part of a team of Engineers, you will be utilising agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software on a fortnightly cadence. Working closely with Lead Software Engineers and architects, you will take a core role in designing and implementing solutions within our SaaS platform.

With an ability to blend both technical ability and effective communication, you’ll help coach and mentor both teams and individuals. As part of a wider community of Engineers, you’ll help to shape and implement technical best practice at ENSEK.

1. Design, develop and implement technical solutions that support day-to-day operations with minimal assistance from Lead Software Engineers.
2. Understand and evaluate complex business models
3. A big part of the role will be to coach and mentor apprentice, junior, placement and developing software engineers in the team.
4. Peer review fellow software engineer’s work, offering constructive feedback where relevant.
5. Be able to shift in between technical and agile mindsets, to help coach the team towards continuous improvement.
6. Build and utilize your product knowledge inside and outside of the development team.
7. Set the standard for quality software development and wider team engagement, as an example to more junior team members.

TECHNOLOGIST

Passionate about technology, you are experienced in C#, SQL, JavaScript, cloud-based technologies, and designing distributed systems. You are able to analyse complex business problems and craft elegant solutions using a blend of the right technology and pragmatic design.

COACH & MENTOR

With a wealth of experience under your belt, you enjoy sharing your hard-won wisdom with budding technologists. Using practices such as pair-programming, formal catchups and informal 1:1’s to help develop the team.

AGILE

Being an advocate for agile ways of working, you know how to work in an iterative manner and the value of continuous improvement. You know how to effectively run and participate in scrum ceremonies such as stand-ups and sprint planning.

NATURAL CODER

You’ll consider yourself a natural, fast working, producer of high-quality code with SOLID principles forming a big part of your work ethos.
