Position

We are looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic apprentice to join our busy and dynamic IT team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the IT Department in carrying out the Information Technology (IT) strategy in line with business objectives and ITIL principles
  • Responsible for supporting the design, coding and debugging of applications in line with software development standards and ITIL principles to meet business needs. These may be new services, existing system enhancements or bug fixes
  • Own and manage the Business As Usual (BAU) tickets assigned by Senior Developers, Project and Support Manager and/or the Head of IT that are raised on the allocated systems to ensure incidents and requests are managed in line with SLAs and business criticality demands; ensuring all requests are administered appropriately to ensure accurate reporting
  • Provide an initial point of contact to colleagues across the Business for BAU support items
  • Provision of out of hours support as agreed with the business, in line with own experience

Requirements

You will have:

  • Some experience of IT, ideally in a ‘development’ arena through personal experience, studies or work experience to date
  • Knowledge of Web technologies and development
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • A strong desire to build a career in code development for both BAU support and new application development
  • A positive, can-do approach to work, including when faced with conflicting and demanding schedules
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact with colleagues in a professional and open manner

The successful candidate must have a keen interest in IT and related technologies and must be able to demonstrate this. It’s not vital that you have worked in an IT based role previously; but what is vital is that you have a passion for IT, in particular, software development.

Fully Supported Apprenticeship: Level 4 Software Developer

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm

Salary: £5.00 per hour
