Set up in 1980, we’ve grown to become one of the UK’s leading independent insulated glazed unit and glass processing business, working in partnership with fabricators and installers nationwide. Operating from our state-of-the-art 45,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Lancashire, we’re committed to bringing the latest innovations in high performance and energy efficient glass technologies to the trade.

Partnering with leading float glass manufacturers and with toughening, laminate cutting, and glass painting facilities in-house, we’re committed to bringing service excellence to insulated glazed unit and processed glass supply. 

Having closed temporarily at the end of March we are now fully operational and experiencing encouraging increases in volumes. Our site is fully COVID-19 secure.

Position

We are looking for an Apprentice Maintenance Enginner to support the maintenance and effectiveness of all production machinery, main services and ancillary equipment across the business. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Repair and maintenance of all site assets 
  • Seeking out and implementing improvements to reduce the level of breakdowns
  • Expanding your working knowledge of all aspects of engineering  

 

Your Apprenticeship
You will be trained to a very high standard in areas such as: 

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Pneumatic Engineering
  • Knowledge of CNC machinery and PLC’s 
  • Fault finding skills
  • Adjustment and setting of machines to a good operating standard

 

Requirements

You will need:

  • A logical approach to fault finding
  • A passion for maintenance and engineering
  • To be computer literate 
  • Level 2 functional skills English and Maths or equivalent is desirable
  • Lots of enthusiasm, personal drive and a desire to learn
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach to your work 
  • To work both independently and as part of a team
  • Be physically fit and confident with handling (sometimes) heavy materials 

 

Other information

Salary: £8,775 per annum

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 14:00 - 22:00 (with 30 minute break)
