Position

We are looking to develop a keen and enthusiastic apprentice engineer to join our glass factory in Padiham.

You will be learning how to:

  • Fault find and using diagnostic equipment to fix machinery to ensure effectiveness
  • Using hand held and electric tools with a focus on quality
  • With support, seek out and implement improvements to reduce the level of breakdowns experienced
  • Completing the appropriate paperwork and reporting
  • Continually asses onsite spares and stock levels to enable servicing and repairs to be carried out in a timely fashion

This role will include a fully funded and supported Level 3 Maintenance and operations engineering technician qualification.

Requirements

You will have:

  • A keen interest in electrical componentry, operational machinery and excellent fault finding skills
  • Ideally, some ability to read and understand technical/electric circuit drawings
  • Flexible and pro-active in approach to work
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic and varied production environment, whilst maintaining company health, safety and quality standards
  • Want to be developed and be comfortable in sharing, giving and receiving information, instruction and training.
  • Must be willing to cover out of hours call outs on a rota basis (infrequent)

Other information

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay Rate: £6.75 per hour, £270 per week
