DSL offers an appealing and challenging educational programme from Kindergarten to Abitur with a specific emphasis on German language and culture.

Position

The Administrator provides effective support services for the efficient running of the School. A point of contact in the main school building, he/she develops a welcoming and professional atmosphere and works alongside colleagues and as part of teams to help maintain a strong DSL community.

Requirements

  • Copy and print lesson material for substitute teachers
  • Distribute mail (lesson plan, overtime records etc), and support handling of short-term and unplanned absence and lateness
  • Assist with all tasks in relation to the ‘Abitur’ and other exams (scanning, copying, filing, reporting)
  • Support the updating and maintenance of pupil files and data in various systems (Atlantis, Units, parent-pay)
  • Putting up notices and ensuring all notice boards are up to date
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of DSL meetings, events and performances (sign-postings for parent evenings etc.)
  • Administer and support coordinating the Lernzeit programme for years 5-7
  • Readily respond to questions from pupils and colleagues on current and stand-in timetables
  • Create plans for room allocation during parent evening
  • Other administrative duties as required by the DSL

  • Good organizational and time managements skills
  • German to mother tongue standard – written and orally
  • Displays high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced IT skills, especially for MS Office
  • Works independently but within specified guidelines and processes
  • Uses own initiative where appropriate to get the job done
  • Excellent communication skills and professional approach dealing with colleagues and other stakeholders at all levels
