Dron & Dickson are specialists in integrated supply, installation and maintenance of harsh & hazardous electrical equipment. Based at five UK locations, we provide specialist E&I inspection, maintenance and project services to all parts of the Offshore & Onshore Energy sector, Pharmaceutical and Marine industries. Managed from our UK locations, our services operate within the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia.


Position

The primary purpose of this role is to manage and oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods along with the effective management of people, processes & systems to ensure operational excellence and workplace health & safety.


Objective: The primary objective of this role is to apply strategic management of the warehouse function to comply with and meet the company’s policies and vision.

Strategic Leadership & Management Responsibilities:

· Understand and support the company's strategy and mission.

· Overall responsibility of personal and employee learning, development and KPI completion within department

· Supporting the development of long-term organisational strategy.

· Align departmental goals, processes and resource allocation to mee the organisation’s overall strategy.

· Take responsibility for managing excellent personal and team performance results.

· Effective line management of team members including absence, disciplinary and performance management.

· Lead, inspire and motivate the team into consistent performance improvement.


Role Responsibilities:

· Ensure all company policies surrounding inventory, HSEQ requirements and housekeeping are met

· Set up warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilisation

· Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts and equipment inspection

· Receipt, inspection, processing, packing and despatch of all goods including paperwork and computer processing to ensure conformance and accuracy

· Implement an effective and reliable goods receipt process which details what has been received and when

· To implement and maintain the effective use of handhelds

· Accountable for implementing, achieving and maintaining all relevant KPIs and identifying areas for improvement

· Monitor and maintain accurate and timely transactions

· Produce a report as required on KPI and operational scorecard performance

· Seek feedback and monitor the quality of service provided

· Promote a positive and accountable culture in which employees are encouraged to engage and take the lead in continuous improvement initiatives

· Stock control duties, including but not limited to control of stock records, rolling stock checks and annual stock takes

· Ensure effective and efficient delivery of customer orders via our own transport, third-party couriers and freight forwarders

· Ensure the most cost-effective methods for shipping and packing

· Continual monitoring of supplier quality and delivery performance

· Be aware of any customer-specific delivery requirements

· Provide line management mentoring and support for personnel, to ensure training and development needs are identified and addressed in line with the appraisal system

· To be fully aware, assist and support the ongoing development of the integrated management system.

· To maintain good communications with internal and external clients

· To take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and development of the company’s systems and processes

· Ad hoc duties as requested by management

· Understand and support the company's strategy and mission

· Travel may be necessary to ensure delivery of business needs

· Social and business networking is expected


HSEQ Responsibilities:

· Comply with Dron & Dickson’s integrated management system including all policies and procedures

· Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.

· Act ethically and with integrity

· Ensure all health and safety training is undertaken.

· Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

Core Training & Competencies:

· Tertiary education in a Warehousing discipline

· Working knowledge of the warehouse environment

· Educated to Standard Grade or Equivalent

· Experience in managing a team and warehouse

· Manual Handling training

· Forklift licence

· Full UK Driving licence

· Dangerous Goods by Sea/Air Certification is desirable

Contracted Hours: 38.25 hours per week with 45 mins for lunch


Hours of work:

  • Mon to Thurs: 8.30am – 5pm
  • Fri: 8.30am – 4.30pm
