Company Description

Dron & Dickson are specialists in integrated supply, installation and maintenance of harsh & hazardous electrical equipment. Based at five UK locations, we provide specialist E&I inspection, maintenance and project services to all parts of the Offshore & Onshore Energy sector, Pharmaceutical and Marine industries. Managed from our UK locations, our services operate within the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Position

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the procurement strategy and all procurement activities whilst executing short-term and long-term plans aligned with the company’s strategy, mission, vision, and values.

Objective: The primary objective of this role is to manage the company procurement process efficiently and effectively. The primary objective is to control organisational spending by maximising vendor value while minimising risk.

Reporting to: Wholesale Director

Direct Reports: None.

Strategic Leadership & Management Responsibilities:

  • Understand and support the company's strategy and mission
  • Overall responsibility for personal learning, development and KPI completion within the department
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and the senior leadership team on all matters relating to Procurement activity and strategy.
  • Align departmental goals, processes, and resource allocation within the organisational strategy
  • Embed strategic planning practices across the organisation
  • Take responsibility for managing excellent personal performance and results

Role Responsibilities:

Procurement

  • Manage, coordinate and negotiate company strategic stock purchases.
  • Manage, coordinate and negotiate company fixed and current asset purchases
  • Ensure all branches purchase from the most competitive suppliers
  • Approval of branch stock POs in line with Delegation of Authority levels
  • Manage the companies aged stock
  • Ensure branch and company stock levels are stocked and maintained within company guideline requirements
  • Ensure company systems and people are up to date with the manufacturer’s innovations

ERP

  • Management and maintenance of data held within Dron & Dickson’s ERP System, IQ
  • Ensure cost and list prices are up to date within IQ on “managed items”
  • Provide proactive support for all branch users on IQ including remote training for users
  • Wholesale IQ champion
  • Take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and development of IQ
  • Manage and maintain Dron & Dickson’s online procurement platform P365

SRM

  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Assess and review supplier performance and escalations, whilst implementing risk controls and measures to prevent underperformance.
  • Establish appropriate action plans to manage underperforming suppliers.
  • Negotiate, implement, and track rebates from our manufacturing partners
  • Manage supplier agreements and contracts
  • Create and regularly review the Approved Vendors List (AVL)

IMS

  • Ensure Dron & Dickson’s buyer guide is kept up to date, containing all relevant and necessary information
  • Continous review of processes and procedures to ensure they reflect system and business practice
  • Assist branches to complete customer and supplier questionnaires
  • Assist branches in pulling information together for ITTs received

Operations

  • Ensure KPI Scorecard and targets are in place for the relevant financial year
  • Ensure all customer and supplier returns are maintained at the branch level
  • Ensure all customer and supplier NCs and NCRs are maintained and actioned at the branch level

Marketing

  • Work with the Marketing Co-ordinator to identify marketing opportunities

Other Responsibilities

  • To maintain good communications with internal and external clients
  • To take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and development of the company’s systems and processes
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by management
  • Travel may be necessary to ensure delivery of business needs.
  • Social and business networking is expected

HSEQ Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all of Dron & Dickson’s integrated management system including all policies and Procedures
  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including undertaking personal statutory training and reporting.

  • Overall responsibility of branch sites ensuring all relevant branch management responsibilities are actioned by the branch managers as and when required.

Contracted Hours: 38.25 hours per week with 45 mins for lunch

Hours of work:

  • Mon to Thurs:8.30am – 5pm
  • Fri:8.30am – 4.30pm
