Dron & Dickson are specialists in integrated supply, installation and maintenance of harsh & hazardous electrical equipment. Based at five UK locations, we provide specialist E&I inspection, maintenance and project services to all parts of the Offshore & Onshore Energy sector, Pharmaceutical and Marine industries. Managed from our UK locations, our services operate within the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia.


Please note that this position can either be based within our Westhill or Stirling office.

Position

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure consistent delivery of customer service and to proactively contribute to the Engineering Service department strategy.


Objective: The primary objective of this role is to lead all appointed Energy Transition operations within the department to achieve customer satisfaction and financial targets set in line with company strategy.

Reporting to: Engineering Projects Lead.


Direct Reports: Assigned personnel to Projects.


Core Alignment Responsibilities:

· Understand and support the company's mission, vision, and values.

Role Responsibilities:

· Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas about health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.

· Comply with all Dron & Dickson’s integrated managements system including all policies and procedures.

· Preparation of detailed design and installation work pack/instructions

· Provide Engineering support to all C&I Projects and PLC Control Systems scopes of work.

· Be familiar with HAZOP, LOPA and SIL Determination

· Competent in the application, specification and requisitioning of DCS, PLC, and SIS systems, with experience of the system full lifecycle.

· Offer support to other areas of the business in relation to technical matters.

· Conduct technical review on proposed materials specifications.

· Liaise with clients as required for any specific project requirements.

· Creation of detailed design schematic drawings/documents and performance calculation packages

· Monitor, analyse and communicate key performance attainment.

· Manage project deliverables and review possible risks against project plans.

· Adhere to company planning processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with mandatory gate criteria.

· Keep up to date with industry legislation and standards.

· Preparation of project proposals both service and material requisitions

· Provide detailed reporting on all project expenditure against budget.

· Contribute to project lessons learnt review and possible improvement opportunities.

· A willingness to mobilise to offshore and onshore work site locations within the UKCS and international locations.

Core Training & Competencies:

Essential – A minimum degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Controls related subject with relevant experience.


Experience in the following is desirable but not necessary however we are keen to understand if you can demonstrate an awareness of:

· Process Control

· PLC Control Systems Vendor Training and Certification.

· Proven PLC Control Systems background executing on and offshore scopes of work.

· F&G Vendor Training and Certification.

· Proven F&G background executing on and offshore scopes of work.

· TUV Certified Training.

· COMPEX.

· Offshore Survival (GWO/BOSIET/ FOET/ MIST).

· UKOOA Medical.

· Previous experience in a similar capacity within an office environment.

· Experience in an electrical organisation compiling & administering electrical maintenance and installation work packs.

· Previous supervisory experience is essential.

· Previous experience of generating project drawings using AutoCAD.

The opportunity to undertake development and progression through the company’s personal development plan which is directly linked to this role. If desired this will include registration with IET and working towards IENG or Chartered Status.


Contracted Hours: 38.25 hours per week with 45 mins for lunch


Hours of work:

  • Mon to Thurs: 8.30am – 5pm
  • Fri: 8.30am – 4.30pm
