Dron & Dickson are specialists in integrated supply, installation and maintenance of harsh & hazardous electrical equipment. Based at five UK locations, we provide specialist E&I inspection, maintenance and project services to all parts of the Offshore & Onshore Energy sector, Pharmaceutical and Marine industries. Managed from our UK locations, our services operate within the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Position

The primary purpose of this role is to engage with key and target clients and, manufacturer partners and liaise with internal stakeholders. Continual promotion of the company’s wholesale services, our culture and our core values, and ensuring our customers receive the best possible service levels. Working with clients problem-solving through the specification of innovative and safe solutions, in line with our company purpose and strategy.

Objective: The primary objective of this role is to find new business opportunities, whilst nurturing and developing existing business. Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets in line with the company’s strategic growth plans.

Reporting to: Wholesale UK Manager

Direct Reports: None

Core Alignment Responsibilities:

  • Understand and support the company's mission, vision and values
  • Responsibility of personal learning, development and KPI completion

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with existing customers
  • Increase customers base through the addition of new customers
  • Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, new products and partnerships
  • Deliver sales and margins in line with the branch budget and individual targets set.
  • Engage with the Branch Manager to assist in the preparation and content of financial year budgets.
  • Engage with the Branch Manager to assist in the preparation and content of Pre-Quals, ITTs, Projects and Contract submissions.
  • Support the company's short and long-term strategies and understand your role within.
  • Create a business plan relevant to the FY budget and company strategy for your allocated customers
  • Ensure Dron & Dickson is registered on all applicable approved vendor lists (AVLs).
  • Attend and network at industry events, seminars, and webinars to raise the profile and capabilities of Dron & Dickson.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the company’s products, the competition in the industry and position
  • To promote products and manufacturers where the company has preferential distribution agreements and inventory.
  • To promote our Engineering Services division in accordance with the technical capabilities within the company.
  • Collaborate with internal sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met and provide support when required.
  • Promoting a culture of growth through sales across the business
  • To ensure the company is professionally represented at all times.
  • Ensure all required reports relevant to the position are submitted promptly
  • Keep up to date with industry legislation and trends
  • Ensure all leads, prospects and customer call interactions are entered and kept up to date in the CRM system
  • To work closely with the Marketing team to identify marketing opportunities and assist with producing content.
  • To maintain good communications with internal stakeholders
  • To take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and development of the company’s systems and processes within our IMS.
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by management
  • Travel may be necessary to ensure delivery of business needs.
  • Social and business networking is expected

  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.

Core Training & Competencies:

  • Minimum National 5 or equivalent
  • CompEx Foundation is desirable
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Knowledge of Ex and industrial lighting
  • Knowledge of relevant product types and manufacturer portfolio
  • Basic Knowledge of internal Engineering Service capabilities (Ex-inspection and Ex strategies, Fire & Gas systems, maintenance and engineering, CAP 437 Lighting, Trace Heating design and installation, Rope Access, Project execution and minor mods)

Contracted Hours: 38.25 hours per week with 45 mins for lunch

Hours of work:

  • Mon to Thurs:8.30am – 5pm
  • Fri:8.30am – 4.30pm
