Position

We have an exciting opportunity to join DI as our new Communications & Media Officer. This varied role will sit within our Communications & Influence team and will help drive communications planning and hands-on delivery across multiple thematic areas.


Duties Include:

  • Leading on the delivery of creative and engaging communications strategies, plans and project activities, targeting different audiences.
  • Conducting research to produce insight on the external policy environment, partners and audiences to ensure our communications are appropriately tailored and targeted.
  • Developing DI’s social media strategy, including assessing DI’s current social media presence and the pros and cons of potentially expanding to new platforms; and own day-to-day management of DI accounts (currently X, LinkedIn and YouTube).
  • Organising and promoting events with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Producing compelling communications assets such as graphics, animations, podcasts, slide decks and social media content.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with significant experience in a similar role and a demonstrated ability to deliver communications and media strategies to drive change. You will need to have experience managing social media channels and campaigns, along with excellent drafting skills across a range of formats, with a particular ability to write about complex technical subjects for specialist and non-specialist audiences.


It would be an advantage to your application if you have sound knowledge of the international development sector and policy environment.
