Company Description

Development Initiatives applies the power of data and evidence to build sustainable solutions.

Our mission is to work closely with partners to ensure data-driven evidence and analysis are used effectively in policy and practice to end poverty, reduce inequality and increase resilience.

While data alone cannot bring about a better world, it is vital to achieving it. Data has the power to unlock insight, shine a light on progress and empower people to increase accountability.

Position

Rigorous analysis and evidence is at the heart of DI’s efforts to support partnerships and inform sustainable solutions that create an equitable and resilient world.

To maintain the highest quality of work we are constantly looking for exceptional talent at all levels to join our analytical team across a range of thematic portfolios such as development finance, humanitarian finance and crisis contexts, national budgeting and public finance management, climate change, poverty and inequality, resilience, and nutrition. We seek strong analytical skills across a range of backgrounds, from economists to population and health statisticians.

Requirements

We see opportunities to grow our research and analysis team at all levels of seniority, from entry-level positions to lead analysts in specific content areas. Applicants should be able to manipulate complex data sets, be familiar with qualitative research methodologies, and be adept at synthesising complex data into clear messages that inform better policy and programming decisions. The ability to quickly understand and interpret data for a non-technical audience and innovatively combine datasets to generate new insights are particular assets.

More senior analysts should bring with them several years worth of experience in developing robust methodologies, team leadership and a solid understanding of research, institutional and policy landscapes in relevant fields.

Other information

We are looking for highly capable and committed analysts across all our office locations, which include Bristol (UK), Nairobi (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda) and Washington DC (US).

We will review and respond to submissions as they arrive. Interviews will be held periodically for exceptional candidates that match our organisational needs.

If you are talented, passionate and would like to contribute to increasing the impact of a dynamic organisation committed to ending poverty, we would love to hear from you. Please apply by uploading your CV and cover letter to our online application portal.
