Position

Reporting to the Skills Academy Manager, the Skills Academy Project Coordinator will assist in the delivery of our ambitious skills academy programme. You’ll work with internal stakeholders, academic institutions and industry partners to provide opportunities to develop skills for compound semiconductor industries.


The Skills Academy Project Coordinator will contribute to how the Skills Academy is delivered and will work closely with the Skills Academy Manager to ensure that this fits into the wider strategy. They will make recommendations on how projects are delivered and how the Academy can grow and expand. Tasks will include:


  • Support the Skills Academy Manager to deliver our Skills Strategy, coordinating events, activities and building new opportunities.
  • Support engagement programmes which underpin our strategic objective to build skills in compound semiconductors, working closely with colleagues from within our sector.
  • Act as liaison for students gaining experience with CSA Catapult, providing pastoral support where necessary.
  • Contribute to our STEM programme.
  • Engage with schools, further and higher education institutions to ensure we are providing current and relevant messaging around careers in the compound semiconductor sector.
  • Maximise engagement with partner organisations to find opportunities for developing skills within the catapult and other organisations.
  • Work with our Business Development team to coordinate expressions of interest in our Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in an education, training or professional development environment, ideally within a technical / STEM field
  • Experience coordinating and organising events and programmes.
  • Knowledge of effective messaging around education and skills.
  • Ability to understand the positive impact that technology can have on daily life, society and the economy.
  • Experience of coaching or mentoring.
  • Ability to ensure operational delivery of projects and programmes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to research and write reports and present to a wide range of audiences, representing CSA Catapult.
  • High degree of organisational ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including young people, academia, industry and professional bodies.
  • Excellent data analytical skills and the ability to translate the analysis into clear and concise insights, using metrics and data to evaluate current provision support and influence future decision making.
  • Deadlines for this role are dictated by project and organisational priorities therefore the post holder will need to exercise good judgement to set their own deadlines and demonstrate delivery. There will be peaks in workload, and the post holder will be required to change direction regularly.
