The Job Details

We are looking for a Tech Check Artist to join the team at My Father's Dragon

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in camera work, staging, timing and composition. This role requires expertise in camera set-ups and adjustments as well as exceptional problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, meticulous follows up and excellent communication skills is a vital part to this role. The ability to detect areas in scenes that require further investigation, asking questions clearly, and closely facilitating the steps to address any and all issues are also an important component.

As Tech Check Artist, the role will entail:

• Building layers gathered from Photoshop
• Building of TVPaint files
• Layering of Layout and Character Placeholders in TVPaint
• Colour-coding and labelling of said Layers
• Addition of timed Camera Moves
• Addition of notes to departments
• Ability to manage time successfully in prioritizing tasks
• Meet deadlines as established by production management
• Strong communication skills addressing any issues concerning production
• Strong team player

What we would like to see from you:

• Previous experience in Scene Prep Department on a feature preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ToonBoom Harmony is required
• Strong knowledge of TV Paint, Moho and Photoshop would be preferable but is not required. Otherwise, experience in another Digital 2D Animation Software such as CelAction or and/or CGI experience with Maya or 3D Max are required
• This position requires the candidate to work full time in-house in Kilkenny, Ireland.
