Cartoon Saloon, established in 1999 by Paul Young, Tomm Moore, and Nora Twomey, is a world renowned animation studio with five Academy Award® and two Golden Globe® nominations and many award wins including BAFTA® and Emmy®. Located in Kilkenny, Ireland, the studio produces brave and beautiful shorts, feature films, and TV series. Cartoon Saloon is the founder and host of Kilkenny Animated, an annual festival of visual storytelling incorporating exhibitions, talks and performances celebrating the creativity of the animation craft.

In 2024, Cartoon Saloon will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with exciting events planned throughout the year to mark this special occasion

Following the Director’s vision and in alliance with visual language and character designs established for the feature, the Moho Animation Supervisor will be in charge of the Moho Animation team, which generates work for secondary/incidental characters, crowds and props in addition to background animation. The role will entail artwork exploration which will be seamlessly integrated into hand-drawn animation both character and effects as well as backgrounds.

As Moho Supervisor your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

• Producing 2D animation that meets the creative quality & needs of production
• Responsibility for the final output of assigned animation scenes and assigned tasks
• Working on a variety of tasks including vehicles, characters, environmental fx, etc .
• Taking direction and responding well to notes and pitching creative/technical solutions to potential problems
• Liaising with the production department to ensure deadlines are kept and quotas are fulfilled.
• Being available on Google Chat and by emails during working hours
• This list is not exhaustive and might be complemented by reasonable and related tasks that are requested of you

• The candidate should have strong proficiency in Moho and Rigged Animation
• Photoshop proficiency is required
• TVPaint and/or ToomBoom knowledge, preferred
• 1-2 years previous experience in a similar role required
